Founded by Gavin Matthews in 2020, Artisan Horticulture grew from a lifelong passion for plants and years of hands-on experience caring for gardens.
Today, we are a small Melbourne-based team of passionate horticulturists providing tailored residential horticultural services, with a focus on regenerative and organic practices.

Whether it’s a compact townhouse garden or a sprawling established estate, every landscape has its own character, challenges and potential. Our role is to understand it, nurture it and help it evolve.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we consider the individual plants, soil, seasons, irrigation, nutrition and wider garden ecosystem to provide care specific to each landscape. Our ongoing programs are built around species and seasonal requirements, with the aim of preserving and enhancing the health, beauty and usability of the garden year-round.
